Immigration Officials Honor Escondido Police


ESCONDIDO — The Escondido Police Department has been honored for its partnership with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Mayor Sam Abed released news of the Partnerships for Public Safety Award during his State of the City address Wednesday. ICE officials from the San Diego office presented Police Chief Jim Maher with the national award in the fall at an international police chiefs convention in Chicago.

EPOA announces "Cops For Kids" 1st Annua Golf Tournament


Escondido Police Officers Association 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament, “COPS for KIDS” benefitting the Stepping Up! – Youth Academic Mentoring Program is coming up Saturday, October 23rd, 2010. The tournament will take place at The Vineyard at Escondido Golf Course. The cost is $95/person before October 9th and $115/person after the 9th, which includes cart, warm-up range balls and a chicken or steak dinner following the round. All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Stepping Up! – Youth Academic Mentoring Program.

ESCONDIDO, CA: The Escondido Police Officers Association is proud to announce their recent $2500 donation to the Stepping Up Youth Academic Mentoring Program. Tony Masten, President of the Escondido Police Officers Association, presented the check to Josephine Jones, CEO of the Stepping Up Program, during a recent session. The money from the donation will help pay for a special trip to the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park Roar & Snore® Sleepover Program.

EPOA endorses Marie Waldron for City Council


ESCONDIDO, CA: The Escondido Police Officers Association is proud to announce their endorsement of Marie Waldron for Escondido City Council. Mrs. Waldron has been an Escondido City Council Member since 1998. She and her husband Steve own a small apparel and screen-printing business based in downtown Escondido. Mrs. Waldron has proved to be a trustworthy civic leader during her twelve years on the Escondido City Council. Her dedication to her community and strong fiscal vision led the Escondido Police Officers Association to endorse Mrs. Waldron for the November City Council Election.
