August.19.2010 -- EPOA announces new date for "Cops For Kids" 1st Annual Golf Tournament
The Escondido Police Officers Association is proud to announce the new date for their 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament, “COPS for KIDS” benefitting the Stepping Up! – Youth Academic Mentoring Program. The tournament will now take place Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 at The Vineyard at Escondido Golf Course.

August.16.10 -- EPOA Donates to Steppin Up Youth Program
ESCONDIDO, CA: The Escondido Police Officers Association is proud to announce their recent $2500 donation to the Stepping Up Youth Academic Mentoring Program. Tony Masten, President of the Escondido Police Officers Association, presented the check to Josephine Jones, CEO of the Stepping Up Program, during a recent session. The money from the donation will help pay for a special trip to the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park Roar & Snore® Sleepover Program.

August.11.10 -- EPOA endorses Marie Waldron for City Council
ESCONDIDO, CA: The Escondido Police Officers Association is proud to announce their endorsement of Marie Waldron for Escondido City Council. Mrs. Waldron has been an Escondido City Council Member since 1998. She and her husband Steve own a small apparel and screen-printing business based in downtown Escondido. Mrs. Waldron has proved to be a trustworthy civic leader during her twelve years on the Escondido City Council. Her dedication to her community and strong fiscal vision led the Escondido Police Officers Association to endorse Mrs. Waldron for the November City Council Election.

August.11.10 -- EPOA endorses Dick Daniels for Mayor
The Escondido Police Officers Association is proud to announce their endorsement of Dick Daniels for Mayor of Escondido. Mr. Daniels has been an Escondido City Council Member since 2006 and currently serves as Mayor Pro Tem. He also serves on the Budget, Economic Development and the Schools Liaison subcommittees as well as serving on the Council’s ad hoc committees for the Palomar Pomerado Health System, California Center for the Arts and the San Luis Rey Litigation. Mr. Daniels commitment to the city of Escondido including his civil and business leadership make him the Escondido Police Officers Association’s choice for Mayor in the upcoming November election.

July.29.10 -- EPOA endorses Mr. Jim Crone for City Council
The Escondido Police Officers Association proudly announces their endorsement of Mr. Jim Crone for Escondido City Council. The members of the EPOA feel that Mr. Crone demonstrates a personal concern for all of Escondido’s residents, employees and visitors that will transfer over to make him a successful council member. Furthermore, Mr. Crone’s success in the Escondido business community as well as his vision for the future economic and social health of our city solidified the decision to back him in the November 2010 council race.

July.29.10 -- EPOA Announces Postponement of Golf Tournament
The Escondido Police Officers’ Association, Inc. (EPOA) has postponed its 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament was scheduled for August 6th but is being rescheduled and will take place sometime this fall. The event will benefit the Stepping Up – Youth Academic Mentoring Program. June.21.10 -- EPOA Announces Public Safety T-Shirt Contest Winner
The Escondido Police Officers Association, Inc. (EPOA) is proud to announce that Adan Lopez, Escondido High School -11th grade, has won the 1st Annual Public Safety T-shirt Contest. Adan’s entry was selected from more that a half-dozen exceptional drawings submitted by students from several of Escondido’s five high schools.

June.18.2010 -- EPOA Announces First Annual Charity Golf Tournament
The Escondido Police Officers Association, Inc. (EPOA) is proud to announce our 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Earlier this year, EPOA Board members attended a regional youth mentoring summit. At this event, we met Josephine Jones who operates Stepping Up – Youth Academic Mentoring program at Emmanuel Faith Church in Escondido. The common theme amongst all of the mentoring programs was community participation and funding.
